A Superb C19th Victorian Oil on thick Wood Panel depicting a River Landscape, dated 1880 by the well listed C19th British Artist George Chester (1830-1897). This striking painting measures 18 inches x 12 inches & is elegantly framed in a classic gallery gilt wood frame with overall measurements being 22 inches x 16 inches. The painting is in excellent condition with no damage or losses, having been professional cleaned at some stage in the past 50 years. The painting is signed & dated 1880 by the artist on the reverse with an indistinct title detailing the location, & a Kensington artists supply stamp on the wood panel.

George Chester was a British 19th Century painter who was born in 1813.
